Lust Have It! August 2012

Yesterday I got my newest Lust Have It! I can officially start calling it a box as unfortunately the first thing I noticed when receiving my parcel this month was that it came in a different sized box. This month Lust Have It! has changed back to just a box, which is too bad. I was really enjoying the cute and colourful bags they were coming in! On the positive side, it came nice and early, more then a week earlier in the month then July's pack.
So below are a few pictures and some description of what was inside this month's Lust Have It!

tango Tanning Glove Full Size RRP $29.95
This is a tan removal glove and it feels very nice and soft. I don’t use fake tan but it says it also doubles as a make up remover, and I will likely use it as a mask remover by soaking it with hot water and placing it on my face to help remove my mask. This is worth a fair amount which is great but I would never spend that much on a product like this.

Tigi Rockaholic – Rock Out Shine Blaster 100ml RRP $27.95
This looks promising! It is used to add shine to your hair and apparently speeds up drying time. It does say that it only adds shine temporarily, so I don’t think this product actually helps to improve your hair but rather just coats it. Nonetheless, I am excited to try this out.

ModelCo Eyeliner – Black Full Size RRP $26.00
I really liked the last ModelCo product (a lipgloss) that I got in my Lust Have It! and have almost finished it all up (which is surprising as I rarely finish lipgloss). I am happy to get another product from the brand and happy it is a product that I often use and it comes with a pencil sharpener!!

Marc Jacobs: DOT Sampler
I like these little sampler perfumes but at the same time, sometimes I think that they are not the best value in the packs. I like that this particular product is new to Australia and apparently we are trying it before it is released, but I would rather another product then a giveaway like this.

Appelles Skin Detox Shower Gel 100ml RRP $12.95
Appelles Body Booster Skin Lotion 100ml RRP $12.95
Appelles Body Bar Vegetable Soap 40g RRP $4.95
These three look nice. I haven’t heard of this brand before and hope they are good products.  It says that these include essential oils so hopefully they smell and work well.

So this month had no cute bag but did boast three full sized products! For the 1 year anniversary I expected it to be a good box and it was but I am surprised they choose this month to stop the bag! I only started subscribing to Lust Have It! three months ago - this is my fourth box - so I didn't receive the pearl earrings that the annual members did.

What did you think of this month's Lust Have It!?

August Empties!

I am calling this August Empties not because I finished these in August, but just because it sounds nice and technically it is August now. Where has this year gone?!
Anyway, here's a look at some products I've finished probably over the past two months or more. You can click on the name of any of the products listed below to see pricing and more information about the various products.
This was just a little sample that I got with an adorebeauty.com.au order. This stuff is incredible and incredibly expensive. I enjoyed it immensely but wouldn't spend the $72/100ml on it. This just happens to be one of the brands affiliated with Lust Have It! Would love to receive another freebie from this beautiful brand (and one day be able to buy their products with my endless supply of money).

This is a really lovely lotion, the kind of lotion that I look forward to putting on my face. If I need to calm down my face, this is a real treat. I say treat because Avene products are a tad on the pricey side, this is $24.99/40ml. I have repurchased this product because it is easy to get my hands on and I really love it, but I use it sparingly as I have cheaper lotions that I can use on a more regular basis.
This is a small size bottle that I received in the priceline skincare bag. I love this stuff and you can see a more in depth review by clicking here. I only regret finishing this bottle as its a great size for travel and I wish I'd saved it for some upcoming trips!

When I first started using this moisturiser I wasn't the biggest fan. It is quite rich and my oily/combination sensitive skin didn't love to have this rubbed in. What I did with this instead, was start using it as a hydration mask. I would use heaps on my face by applying a thick layer and letting it sit for a good 15 minutes. The areas of my face that were dehydrated would drink this lotion up, I would just rinse the excess lotion with tepid water. I would suggest this process to use with any lotion that is quite rich in its consistency but not rich in its price tag.

These did the job but were nothing special. I also got these as a freebie and used them up eventually but certainly didn't note anything that great about them. They caused a bit of sensitivity around my eyes and I wouldn't go out of my way to buy these.

I couldn't say enough amazing things about this product. This is by far one of the most effective skincare products I've ever used. I repurchased this before I ran out of this bottle and believe I will continue to repurchase this for years to come. I will do a more in depth review soon so watch this space for that! In the meantime, go buy this!

This is a very simple but effective cleanser. It is recommended by dermatologists, is easy to find and is at a great price point. I finished this and repurchased a bigger bottle afterward. I would suggest this to many people as it is very gentle on my sensitive skin.

I love love love using this product, the smell, the results and the ease of use. I have kept this in my haircare drawer for a while with the tiniest bit of product left. I just couldn't bare to see it gone. It leaves my hair feeling like I've just had it cut! What I don't love is it is also on the expensive side at around $45 in Australia, hence not wanting it to finish. Although, If you are looking for a great hair mask, look no further!

These are such a treat! I love the refreshing smell and cooling feeling they give. They are very gentle and effectively remove most of my make-up before cleansing. I try and save these for days when I really want to enjoy the process of cleansing, etc. I try not to use them when I am rushing because it will cost my $9.99 to buy more!
This is my ultimate holy grail mascara. I love its formula and the dramatic result. I got this in Canada for Christmas and finally got around to chucking it (don't worry, I stopped using it a while ago). In Canada it is an expensive mascara at $31 in Shoppers Drugmart. Australian cosmetics prices are outrageous, so I would never repurchase this in Australia as they ask for around $48.00. I fear my bank account when I return to Canada and see the price differences on everything (cosmetics alone are around 60% more here).

I love this mask! Its clay and therefore really purifying. It feels nice and cooling and helps to calm down any blemishes I have. You can read a more in depth review I did here. I am sad to see the end of this tube and will be very temped to buy this one again, especially with it only setting me back $13.

I got this in a Lust Have It! pack and think it was a really nice treat. I also got a full mask but forgot to keep the empty packaging. Both left me with visibly brighter skin that felt hydrated and plump. The downside is that these are not cheap. I might be tempted to pick them up if I walked past them, but I also haven't seen them in any stores :s

I got this Mascara in the Priceline Make-up bag and was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed using it! It left a really natural finish that was very feathery. The formula wasn't too wet or dry and the small brush made it easy to coat all of my lashes. A winner in my books :)

Well there were a lot there but hopefully it gave you a tad of information on how I enjoyed these varied products. Please comment below if you have any questions and please don't forget to follow my blog :)

Lust Have It! July 2012

I really should not make excuses for my recent absence, but if I could mention one, I'd say teaching makes me tired! But I won't continue to explain why I haven't posted in a while but rather will just apologise and try hard to make sure it doesn't happen again :D

So now on to the latest Lust Have It!

This month marked the second month since the merger of Lust Have It! with the Glossy Box clientele and therefore the delivery of varied packs. I have taken a look at some of the different products that other ladies have received and I've got to say that I am pretty pleased with what came to my door a few short weeks ago.

I know there has been a bit of complaining about the timing of postage and that some people aren't happy with the products they are receiving compared to others. I basically think there is a lot of wasted energy in complaining about these things. Not knowing when your pack will arrive, in my eyes means its more exciting when it does come to your door. Wishing you got what someone else got, is really something most people will face their whole lives, better to get used to that feeling ladies! Life's hard and sometimes unfair, enjoy what you do have and maybe stop stressing about what beauty products you received. (See how silly that sounds!). Alrighty, rant over, now on to what products I got :)

Baby Foot Full size pack RRP $29.99
The product says that it is “Designed to remove the dead skin cells which are unsightly and can contribute to problems associated with the sole of the foot. Baby Foot provides you with the product to care and maintain your feet at home”. Essentially, these are socks that have product in them, you put them on for two hours and then the next few weeks you should see your cracked skin start to peel away. I an anxious to try these but they do seem … original?

Matrix Deep Soothing Shampoo 500ml RRP $29.00
Matrix Deep Soothing Conditioner 250ml RRP $29.00
Matrix is a high end line of hair care and personally I love to have sample sizes of quality shampoo and conditioner. They are great to travel with and a welcome sight next to the crappy products usually found in hotels.

Mirenesse Velvet Lip Lift Moisture Shine 4.5g RRP $39.99
I love seeing a nice lip-gloss sample. This one’s packaging is quite swish and classy. I love the colour and am happy with the consistency. I haven’t had it long enough to say much more then that about it. It is nice to see some make-up in these packs, although I’d like something other then a product for the lips. I’d be excited to see some more make-up next month :)

Avene Gentle Eye Make-up Remover 125ml RRP $22.95
I love Avene products and have, over the past few months, tried a fair few of their products and loved some and liked others. They are quite expensive, but I am keen to try more from the brand. I am happy I got this and hope it’s as nice as some of the other products I’ve tried.

Avene Ystheal+ Cream Anti Ageing 30 ml RRP $49.95
This little sample isn’t that much smaller then the full size. At 50 bucks for the full size, I hope I don’t like this cream. I think this brand is great but a tad over priced. That being said, I like that they have this Ystheal+ line as it is targeted for younger skin and preventing ageing. I totally agree with this thinking and am curious to see any results with this sample size.
