As early as grade 7 I knew
that I wanted to be a teacher. The rest of my education unfolded with that one
goal in mind. I became so focused and dedicated on obtaining that goal that my
other interests took a back seat. I graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University
with a degree in History and English. I then travelled to Australia where I
completed my teaching degree in Secondary Education.
After spending some time in Australia, I settled on a new adventure, spending
a year teaching in South Korea, an unforgettable experience that taught me so
much. Korea is also where my obsession
with the beauty world began. South Koreans are experts at beauty products and
it didn't take me long to realize that I was missing out on a lot of exciting
things. Before arriving in South Korea I only dabbled in skincare and makeup. I never had
problem skin in my adolescence and while my friends suffered from the awful
teenage years of the dreaded foundation line and light blue eye liner, I was
more concerned with things like soccer practice and finishing up my assignments. After
my experience in South Korea, I returned to Canada again and with no teaching
opportunities in sight, I took the long trip back to Australia where I spent
the year supply teaching in Kiama, NSW. It was during this time in Australia that
I started this blog in my spare time.
I am now living back in
Canada and I love being close to my family again! My blog has become my one way
of continuing to teach while I've taken on new career challenges but always with a foundation of Education. I've come to a point in my life where I can see what
all the fuss is about makeup and the luxuries of skincare. So come along with
me and hopefully learn something as I explore the world of all things
beautiful.
