FAQ

Where did you get your blog name from?

As Miss Brodie says in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie “The word education comes from the root e from ex, out, and duco, I lead. It means a leading out. To me education is a leading out of what is already there in the pupil's soul.” The novel’s author, Muriel Spark, saw her character as a women dedicated to education, a women able to bring out in her pupils what they already had within them. She truly believed that her students could be the "Crème de la Crème"! I started this blog when I was waiting around for a teaching job and eager to combine my love for fashion and beauty with my passion for education. While reading Spark's masterpiece, I knew that my blog's title had been born. As a 25-year-old girl, excited to start something new in the prime years of her life, with a passion to bring out in her students what she knows they have within them, The Prime of Miss Laura Jane became the perfect fit.
